Questions about vegetables vocabulary

Which vegetables are most useful for daily conversation?
Learn carrot, tomato, potato, onion and cucumber first, since they appear in salads, soups and home cooking everywhere. Corn, pea and bean cover most simple dishes too. Once these are solid, add leafy greens like spinach and lettuce.
Why do English learners mix up corn, pea and bean?
All three are small plant foods, but corn grows in yellow rows on a cob, peas sit inside a green pod, and beans come in many colors and shapes. Show a real example of each if you can. Naming them at dinner is the fastest way to fix the difference.
Is eggplant the same as aubergine?
Yes, they are the same vegetable: eggplant is the American word and aubergine is the British one. Menus in the United States say eggplant, while cookbooks from the United Kingdom prefer aubergine. Pick the version that matches the English you are learning.
